In 1990, I needed a trumpet player for a project I was doing but had no money. My friend Baps, of Light Of The World & Beggar & Co says ” I’ll speak to Sid Gauld.” I’m like “Nah man, he doesn’t even know me”. “Sid is cool” says Baps and sure enough Sid rolls up and blows the shit out of what I was doing. Sid & Simon Bates have blown on a lot of my work including on I Feel so High from my album I Fly With Dragons. Baps was right. Sid is cool. And he’s got my car.
